Constellate collects no personal data. Everything except the in-app purchase runs entirely on your device.
Nothing.
There is no account system, no login, no registration, and no identifier of any kind is generated for you or transmitted anywhere. We do not know that you use this app.
Everything you make. Your posters — their titles, dedications, dates and places — are stored in a single file in the app's private storage, encrypted with AES-256-GCM. The key is generated on your device the first time you open the app and is held in the iOS Keychain or the Android Keystore. A fresh random nonce is used for every write.
That file never leaves your device. Deleting the app deletes both the file and the key.
None of them. There is no analytics SDK, no crash reporter, no attribution framework, and no advertising library in this app. We have not integrated one and do not intend to.
The app requests no permissions. It does not ask for your location — you type in a city, which is matched against a list of 34,125 cities bundled inside the app. Location, microphone and camera permissions are explicitly blocked in the app's manifest so that no future dependency can quietly reintroduce them.
The app is designed to work with no network connection, permanently. The star catalogue, the city list and the timezone database are all bundled in the download.
The one exception is the in-app purchase. When you buy the unlock, or tap Restore Purchase, the app talks to Apple's App Store or Google Play, and to RevenueCat, which is the service that records that you own the unlock so it can be restored on a new phone.
RevenueCat receives the store transaction and an anonymous identifier that it generates for your installation. It does not receive your name, your email address, or any account of yours, because Constellate has no accounts. That identifier is random, is created on your device, and is not connected to you.
Nothing else in the app touches the network. Your poster designs, the dates, times and places you enter, and the files you export are never transmitted anywhere. They stay on your device, encrypted.
PDFs and PNGs are generated on your device and handed to the system share sheet or your downloads folder. They are not uploaded, processed remotely, or seen by us. Where they go after that is up to you and the app you send them to.
Constellate is rated 18+ and is not directed at children. It collects no personal data from anyone, children included.
Regulations such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights of access, correction, deletion and portability over personal data a company holds about you. We hold none, so there is nothing for us to disclose, correct, delete or export. Your data is already entirely in your possession: it is on your phone.
If you want to erase it, delete individual posters in the app or delete the app.
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published here with a new date. A change that introduced any data collection would be a change to what this app fundamentally is, and would be announced plainly rather than buried.
