Threshold — Support

Threshold tells you whether your reactive or anxious dog is getting better, holding steady, or getting worse. This page is the whole support channel: there is no account system and no ticketing, because there is no server.

Getting in touch

Email gapfound.apps@gmail.com. Please say which iPhone and which version of iOS you are on, and what you expected to happen.

We cannot see your records. There is no server and no account, so nothing about your dog reaches us unless you choose to describe it or attach an exported report.

Common questions

Why does it say “Not enough data yet”?

Because it does not yet have enough to give you an honest answer. Threshold waits for at least 8 entries, spread across 3 different calendar weeks, covering at least 10 days. Good and bad days come in runs, and a handful of either points the wrong way. It will not state a trend it cannot support.

What am I actually recording?

An encounter takes about fifteen seconds: what set your dog off, how close it was, how your dog reacted on a fixed 0–5 scale, and how long they took to settle. Two of those carry the trend — how close they get before reacting, and how long they take to settle. Both come down as a dog improves.

You can also record sleep, play and toileting. Those are shown separately and count for less, because they are weaker evidence than what happened at the moment of a reaction.

Where are my records kept?

On your phone, encrypted, and nowhere else. There is no account, no sync and no server. See the privacy policy for exactly what is stored and how.

I got a new phone and my records are gone

This is the hard edge of the privacy promise, and it is worth understanding before it happens. The encryption key is deliberately kept out of iCloud and iTunes backups, so a restored copy of the file has no key to open it. Records move between phones only through Settings → Encrypted backup → Export, using a passphrase you set.

Keep that passphrase somewhere you will still have it. We do not hold a copy and cannot recover the file without it — that is what makes the backup safe to store anywhere.

What does the subscription unlock?

One thing: exporting the one-page PDF report, to hand to your trainer, behaviourist or vet. Recording encounters, sleep, play and toilet, the history, the verdict on your home screen and encrypted backups are all free and always will be.

I paid on another device

Settings → Restore purchases. It uses the Apple Account signed in on the phone.

Do I have to give it photo access?

No. Photos are optional, and the app works fully without them. It is the only permission Threshold ever asks for — no location, microphone, camera, contacts or notifications.

How do I delete everything?

Settings → Erase all data on this device. It removes every encounter, photo and setting and destroys the encryption key. It cannot be undone, and we hold no copy. There is no account to delete, because there are no accounts.

Which iPhones does it run on?

iOS 16.4 or later.

Is this veterinary advice?

No. Threshold reports what you recorded. It does not diagnose anything, does not recommend treatment or medication, and is not a substitute for advice from a qualified trainer, behaviourist or vet. If the trend is going backwards, that is a good moment to talk to one of them.
